More informationEDM Plus (UK) Ltd is very pleased to be appointed a distributor for this Wire EDM Modular Work Holding System which is manufactured in the UK. The standard system has two rails which can be manufactured to fit any make or model of machine including; Accutex, AMStech, Charmilles, Chmer, Excetek, Fanuc, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Ona and Sodick.
In addition to the standard system, other bespoke parts can be made including; jaws, clamps, vee blocks and profiled jaws to suit your application.
The work holding system is made in the UK from Stavax Stainless Steel, heat treated to 52Rc and then ground finished to give a good long lasting solution. These kits have been designed for EDM machines but will also work on other types of machines i.e. CNC machining centres, manual mills and CMM machines. A system can be designed to suit your application.
The system is flexible and versatile and offers the user the benefits of "Multi Set Ups" on the wire Cut machine, so now you don't just have to put the long runners on overnight, multiple smaller parts can be set and left to run over night*. *Assuming you have an Automatic Wire Feed system on your machine.
In addition to the standard system, other bespoke parts can be made including; jaws, clamps, vee blocks and profiled jaws to suit your application.
Side Clamping - By using the Fixed jaw and the Moving jaw, part sizes ranging from 25mm to the maximum length of the rails can be clamped. Once the part is less than 25mm square smaller jaws are available. A work rest can be positioned to get the job on Z zero Machine table), for fine adjustment there are 4 jackng screws that can ensure the component is perfectly level.
The kit is supplied with riser plates to eleiminate the risk of collision by raising the rails 4mm above the table, thus clearing the Z supports.
Reference buttons that are matched in length can be set as stops for production part work, so X & Y datums can be repeated.
Top clamping - Using the clamps and the Z plates it is possible to clamp conventionally. As work pieces get heavier the 4 jacjong screws will compensate for any deflection in the rails. As with the side clamping the parts can be on Z zero (Machine table) or 4mm above Z zero.
Clamping directly on the rails - Parts can be clamped directly on the rails either on the top or on the side. As they span the machine this can be quite useful for large parts.
Minimise material wasteage by being able to cut close to the edges of the block
